Xiaomi has launched its first ever router, the Mi Router 3C in India. The router comes equipped with four ‘real’ antennas running on 2.4GHz single frequency.
The router is optimized to be accessible over a longer range (80m) and runs on IEEE 802.11n Protocol supporting data transfer rates of up to 300MBps. The router is powered by MediaTek MT7628N processor with 64MB RAM and 16MB of internal memory.
The Mi Router 3C is bundled along with the companion app that not only lets you set up your Wi-Fi remotely but also lets you monitor individual devices and take control of the same. The router is capable of importing PPPoE settings and connecting to the internet with a single tap.
Real-time monitoring features will let you see the upload and the download bandwidth and live status for all the connected devices. Users can also set a unique Wi-Fi for friends while keeping the master secure password for themselves.
Furthermore, you can connect to up to 20 computing devices and 44 IoT devices including the Mi Air Purifier. The Mi Router 3C is a basic router as it lacks support for 5 GHz band and also no USB ports are present. It does come with 2 LAN ports though.
The router also comes with the metering feature that will let users limit the bandwidth for each device and also block other devices deemed suspicious. The Mi Router 3C comes with two LAN output ports and the traditional reset button. The setup process is pretty straight forward all one needs to do is download the Mi Wi-Fi app and login with the Mi Account.
A single tap on the Mi Router is expected to pair the router and you are good to go. Priced at Rs 1,199 the Mi Router 3C will be up for sale on May 20 and if you are in Bengaluru just head over to the newly opened Mi Home store and grab a router for yourself. For others, it goes on sale on Mi.com from may 23rd at 9 am.
