The iPhone 8 buzz has sort of slowed over the past few days so why not some Google Pixel XL 2 buzz? The Google Pixel XL 2 and its smaller brother, are likely going to be unveiled at some point this year.
Google introduced the Pixel brand last year as its very first Google (only) branded premium device and it was received with glowing reviews. While many loved the Pixel, there’s been supply shortages that have soured a few people on the device.
Despite the shortages of the first Pixel, the device was still a success for Google and now specs for the Google Pixel XL 2 have surfaced on GFXBench. First, the standard warning applies to any sort of post that shows specs of an unreleased device – take it with a grain of salt. Some of this could be accurate and none of this could be accurate, we just don’t know for certain and anything can change.
The Pixel XL 2 will house a 5.6″ display packing a 2560×1312 resolution and that interesting 18:9 aspect ration. The Samsung Galaxy S8 houses that elongated aspect ratio and it is widely speculated that the iPhone 8 could be doing the same.
The processor is made by Qualcomm and is of the octa-core variety and the GPU is the Adreno 540. Interestingly, the storage capacity is listed as 100GB which seems odd and as Droid Life points out, it could be a typo.
The rear facing camera is 12MP with no indication of any other cameras on the back. The front facing camera is 7MP and can shoot 4K video (just like the rear camera). You can take a look at the screenshot below to check out the full provided specs for yourself.
We’re not sure when Google will announce the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 but we do hope they figure out the supply issues so more users have the chance to pick one up the second time around.
