Kill Shot Virus, a new first-person shooter for Android smartphones and tablets will be hitting the Google Play Store on May 11, developer Hothead Games announced in a release sent to Android Headlines on Wednesday.
The Vancouver, Canada-based studio also opened the pre-registrations for the game that are now available on the Google Play Store, so all players eager to play this particular FPS can register their interest and be notified once Kill Shot Virus becomes available for download next month.
Alternatively, those who pre-register for the game on its official website will also be eligible for some exclusive “Founders” items, the company said. Apart from its release date, Hothead Games also revealed some more details about its upcoming title, claiming that Kill Shot Virus will be different from any other mobile game ever made. The studio is backing that bold claim by pointing out how Kill Shot Virus will feature numerous enemy and personality types, special skills, and a comprehensive storyline spanning more than a hundred of intense missions. Three enemy types that have been confirmed so far are the Exploder, Thrower, and Leaper, all of which have relatively self-explanatory names in the context of their preferred ways of trying to shorten the lifespan of your digital protagonist.
Hothead Games also revealed the names of three maps that will be featured in the game – Bishop Hill, Capital Plaza Mall, and Communion Square. According to previously revealed information, Kill Shot Virus will boast robust customization options, allowing players to outfit their avatars in any way they see fit, in addition to equipping them with a broad range of lethal weaponry they’ll be able to use to wreak havoc in the post-apocalyptic world that Hothead Games created.
The Canadian studio previously revealed that their upcoming mobile game will utilize a free-to-play business model and be supported by in-app purchases, though no details on the latter have been revealed so far. Regardless of whether Kill Shot Virus truly ends up being a unique mobile game or not, this particular FPS looks like a lot of fun and boasts some pretty impressive graphics, so fans of action-packed titles certainly have something to look forward to next month.
